What is natural hair? Natural hair is hair that has not been chemically treated, which is what we refer to as virgin hair. It is free of color, perm, relaxer, or any other chemical processes. Chemicals automatically change the texture of your hair. Please consider this before beginning chemically treating your hair if you want your hair to remain virgin.
The healthiest hair is free of any chemicals. Does this mean you can not have healthy hair if it's chemically treated ? No, it just means you have to take extra precaution with the preparation, process, and post treatment of your hair. It is also best that you seek a professional to perform these services to ensure it is administered properly. Stay away from box hair color and using two types of chemical processes. Ex: relaxer and and color. Over time this can cause extreme damage to the hair, sometimes immediately depending on the strength of each product being used. If you are performing these procedures at home, read the manufactures directions on how to use product, as well as the safety precaution.
Another hair process that can potentially damage you natural hair is straightening. Yes, this includes flat ironing, pressing, and curling your hair. It is possible for your hair strands to completely reform from coiled to straight without returning back. This heat damage can cause shedding and breakage.
It is important to keep these things in mind when caring for your Natural hair. Please read my Blog "Natural Hair Care Tips"
